I Hate Children

Children Were Sent By His Evil Lordship To Diminish The Morale Of Older People
So apparently in India a 9-year-old boy has directed (and starred in) a feature length movie which is headed for distribution. Argh! Here we all are, us hopeful future filmmakers, slaving away at ideas and carving out scripts and building experimental shorts brick by brick and this kid who'd only just been conceived when I was his age has made a movie about a revolution rising from a slum in Southern India.

There's some more info here apparently: http://chitraloka.com/careoffootpath/index.html

From what I can see there is little written about it there other than exclamations THAT IT'S BY THE YOUNGEST FILMMAKER IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! etc.

Then I read this unrelated story:
Arjo Shreshtha, considered as the youngest filmmaker in Bangladesh, has won the award for the best young filmmaker in the world for his second film Justice for one, Justice for All. Film directors, under 16, from all over the world, took part in the competition organised by Videotivoli, Tampere, Finland. The organisers short-listed 135 films from 500 entrees of which only two films got the awards. Nine year old, Arjo got the top award and twelve year old, Jemmy from England got the second prize for his film 999. Arjo has already achieved awards in Finland, England and Bangladesh for his maiden movie, The Lost Love Story. This young director writes his own scripts, works behind the camera and edits his works. His films have been screened in America, Australia,Canada and in other countries. A Finnish television channel has recently made a documentary on Arjo. Arjo is the son of noted artists Khalid Mahmud Mithu and Kanak Chanpa Chakma.

Evil children...making features... Why can't they just bloody wait their turn so I don't have to face the reality that I'm lazy and unmotivated and could have done it by now if I had any talent?
